Using the World Cup

The World Cup is now just a few weeks away … how are you going to use it?

Use it?  Yes!  As a coach in the U.S., you have few opportunities to get your players as passionate about playing the game as you would probably like.  Encourage your players to watch as many games of the World Cup as they can.  Not only will they see how the game can be played … they will walk away with a greater love of the game and more desire to perform at a higher level.  And by the way, this specific opportunity only comes around once every four years!

So plan a party with your team where you can get them started … the USA v. England game would be a good one to start with.  Then encourage them to watch more somehow … maybe a “pick pool” where everybody fills out their own sheet of winners over the tournament.  The winner gets a World Cup replica ball?

The World Cup runs from June 11th to July 11th this summer … don’t miss out on the opportunity to use it to your advantage!
